Bought in December 2005 from my friend and ex-co-driver Steven Rankins. He took this car to nationals in 2005 and placed 4th in STX, a most impressive accomplishment. Thanks to the many thousands of auto-x runs and somewhat high mileage it ended up needing a partial engine rebuild in Jan ’07. I replaced tons of parts, had the heads completely rebuilt, and replaced the rings for one cylinder. It took a while for the rings to seat but since June ’07 it hasn’t burned a bit of oil between changes. The car is slowly going back towards stock as it becomes more of a daily driver and less of a race car. In September ’08 I sold it to a friend in Four Oaks (near the I-40/I-95 intersection) who has owned 4 other RS’s over the years!
