Today I got rid of the rear camber bolts and shortened the rear bump stops by about an inch. I can finally feel the effect of adjusting the rear shocks and no longer get launched by big bumps. It feels more like a WRX now, although it’s still a bit bouncier than stock on horrible NC concrete slab interstate. I drove back and forth on the nastiest section of 147 about 5 times playing with different shock settings. Full soft was the best ride – going firmer in the rear made things harsher faster than it controlled the bounce.
There’s something wrong with the transmission. It started making horrible noises under deceleration after a flat tire/driving around on the spare for 40 miles – did some debug while the car was in the air tonight and it definitely is inside the transmission. Boo. Might be swapping in the next few months. I can deal with the racket as it isn’t getting any worse. Sure would be nice to figure out a way to tell exactly what it is without pulling the tranny.
